K-Kids are raffling off a basket of chocolates donated by Harbor Treats to raise money to purchase hand puppets for the Tremont Consolidated School Library.

The Club sponsored 11 Angels from the Angel Tree this year so that all Angels received gifts.  The Tree had 164 Angels total this year.

The Christmas Party for the Elderly and the Christmas Raffle drawing was held at Ridge Apartments.  The K-Kids were invited.  Refreshments were served.  Santa visited and handed out envelopes with cash in them.  Peg Dunbar palyed the piano so all could have a sing along.  "It was the best party ever" was the feed back received.

K-Kids had a food drive at school to help Emmaus Center in Ellsworth for Thanksgiving.  The Club delivered the food as a group on the 15th of November.

MDI Kiwanis is proud to sponsor the first K-Kids organization on MDI at the Tremont Cosolidated School.  Terry Lanpher is the Faculty Advisor and to date Nikki Nixon has represented MDI Kiwanis at the meetings.

On January 18 an interclub from MDI attended the Ellsworth Kiwanis meeting.  The members were Danny Chalmers, John Stanley, Eugene Thurston, Tom Newman, Nancy Cerrato, Wayne & Nikki Nixon.  The guest speaker was Lt. Governor Nancy Golding.

Our speaker for the 1/12/06 meeting was Chalres Pugh.  He showed slides and gave us a very interesting talk of  his ten day voyage on the Coast Guard Cutter Eagle from Charleston SC to New Bedford MA as part of the 1976 Sail America.   Because of following winds the Eagle was two days ahead of the scheduled celebration of it's arrival to be attended by many dignitaries so it stayed out to sea for the remaining two (more)
